The library is accepting donations for the Friends of Washington Library (FoWL) spring book sale March 18th-30th. All donations can be brought to the front desk of the Main Library during normal operating hours. No textbooks, encyclopedias, VHS, cassette tapes, or Reader’s Digest compilations, please.
All DVDs and Blu-Ray discs that check out for 7 days (older movies and all TV shows) will now be eligible for one 7-day renewal, as long as the items do not have holds. New movies, which check out for 3 days, cannot be renewed.
Tonight’s Children’s Lego Club and High School ANIME events have been canceled due to the frigid temperatures. Please stay home and stay warm!
The library board has voted to put Sunday hours into place on a permanent basis. The Main Library will continue to be open 1:00-5:00 pm on Sundays.

Every January, Friends of Washington Library (FOWL) sponsors the Super Bowls silent auction. We ask patrons and businesses to donate any themed basket of items to display for two weeks. These “bowls” make wonderful birthday gifts and Valentine’s surprises. Popular themes are sports, food and wine packages, new baby baskets, quilting items, coffees and teas, spa products, reading-themed items, etc.
This year we encourage people to donate “services” like a year of homemade cookies, a day of yard work, etc. As with all FOWL projects, all proceeds help the library to add to its collection and sponsor events.
Bring Super Bowls to the Main Library from January 14-20. They will be displayed January 21-February 2. Questions? Call Sue at 444-7621.
Thanks to sponsorship from the Peoria Riverfront Museum’s Visionary Society, Washington District Library cardholders
