book box sign-up

Book Box sign-ups are now closed.

Sign-ups for our February-April book boxes will open for Washington District Library Cardholders in good standing on Wednesday, January 14.

Note: Sign-ups for previous book boxers (someone who has participated in the program in either of the last two sessions) start Wednesday, January 21. This is to allow more people a chance to participate since this program is so popular.

What are book boxes?

They are a curated-to-you 3-month book box subscription. Inside each box, you will find 3-5 goodies, 1-3 books, and review cards. When you sign up, you are signing up for three months of boxes.

Who can participate?

Participants must have their own Washington District Library card in good standing to sign up. We have 3 age groups of book boxes: Tween (ages 9-14), Teen (ages 12-18), Adult (ages 18+).

How it works

On the 2nd Wednesday of each month in the session, you will be notified that your box is ready for pick up via a hold email from the library. The box is on hold under the card number you provided at sign-up. You will need your library card or photo id to check out the box. Boxes check out for 1 week. The books inside check out for 3 weeks. The books will automatically renew one time, as long as they have no holds on them.

If for some reason you can’t get here within the week, give us a call. Life happens! If we don’t hear from you, the items will be returned to the shelf, and you may be dropped from the program.

Disclaimer: This is an extremely popular program with limited space. In order to ensure its continued success, abuse of the program (such as repeated failure to pick up without notification or destruction of Book Box materials) may result in being banned.
